Testimonial

"There is little glory in jail ministry. Groups are small, the stories unglamorous. You're as likely to see your star disciple on his way back in as on his way out. For those that hang in - the rewards are huge. Jail ministry takes heart, and I don't think I know anyone with hearts are big as Peter Bailey and the volunteers of Upstate Jail Ministries. They minister in a rural area, with all the big-time problems - drugs and alcohol, abuse, and violence - but with few of the resource that we in more urban areas take for granted. It's a one-on-one, face-to-face ministry of relationship and caring. The people they minister to in jail are likely to be neighbors, or at least neighbors of neighbors. It takes a deep and unflinching love for people and an even deeper commitment to the Gospel to be sucessful in jail ministry. The men and women of Upstate Jail Ministries have both.
